Here are some tips on choosing a hosting reseller:
- Test their Uptime.
- Compare three or more company, compare their price and features.
- Test their customer service. Do they email you right away or do you have to wait when you askes something? When things go wrong you want them to respond you right away.
- Ask other people at forums like sitepoint.com and digitalpoint.com about their service.
- Look for coupon in the internet, Google with “coupon” and the hosting company.

The ability to integrate your systems with the reseller is also very important, via a control panel or API.
Ricky, Yeah - otherwise management would be difficult to do - what's your view on web hosting affiliation system?
my biggest advice would be to NOT always go with the cheapest option. Uptime should be priority with customer services being second.
Nick, Agreed - The rule of thumbs for anything involving web design and dev: Go for the second or third cheapest on your list, as the cheapest almost always give you headaches later on (personal experience... LOL).
I think affiliate promotion is a double edged sword. Whilst good for the hosting companies it means that the ones that offer the highest payout get promoted over all others, and these tend not to be the best hosting companies.

Darryl, I think so, too - I guess it's for the affiliate marketers to use common sense in promoting the web hosting affiliate programs - You don't want to risk your credibility by recommending worse solutions for others, do you? Thanks for your insights :)
