Choosing the right keyword for your website.

Before you build your blog / website, remember to research first the keyword you are targeting. Your goal is to build the #1 blog/website on ‘your keyword’. For example you might want to be the #1 in Google searh when people look for ‘cheap small hosting’, so ‘cheap small hosting’ is your keyword. You must make sure that your targets are achievable. If you select the wrong keywords your SEO can be useless. Choose keywords that have reasonable search frequency but still low competition. Do not use ‘hosting’ as your keyword, because when you search hosting at Google, it will show more than 100 millions of search. So you need to target specific keyword like ‘cheap small hosting’ which can bring qualified and targeted traffic to your site.

There are two Google tools to use, first the Google search where you can find out how many competitor out there. If you search ‘hosting’ Google will show more than 100 millions of search. 100 millions is your competitor. Second you can use Google adwords keyword tool, where you can find out how many searches on a specific keyword.
