Thanks for this explanation, I have problem with budget to buy dedicated server so I think VPS is the right answer for me. Since VPS hosting allows me to host unlimited number of websites, I can make more mini site for my affiliate program

I used a virtual private server for quite a while but outgrew it pretty quickly since it was a Windows Server running SQL Express.

There just wasn’t enough RAM to run the SQL Express Management console after the website started to get some traffic.

Eventually upgraded to a fully dedicated machine. Cost me about 5 times more a month, but it’s humming and runs everything I throw at it now.

I have a friend who uses a VPS, and he is very happy with it, I am not 100% positive on which company he uses to host it, bu again though he is very happy with his VPS, while I am very happy with my dedicated server, hehe =D

VPS hosting sounds like a decent option. I am using shared hosting and I don’t like the limitations I face. Still I can’t exactly upgrade to dedicated hosting until my business reaches that level. So VPS might be an option that I should consider.

Thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge. We are currently reaching a point with shared hosting where we need more bandwidth. what do you think about this scenario – We have only bandwidth problem, should we buy extra bandwidth or we should go for VPS hosting?
