Correct, using a targeted page for the product is really a good idea! Many affiliate marketers uses blogs so review that product nicely and tell your readers about everyone and then it’s upto him whether he wants to buy that product or not, don’t distract him on other products. If I make up my mind to purchase a product and land onto a page where there are other products as well, I will definitely check them out too and see what’s the difference.

Affiliate programs are best promoted within an article (or sales page), and having a separate page can be helpful. The concept itself is pretty simple: Create a page optimised in SEO and content, with the right keywords and their densities, that focus on one thing: Convert page visitor into buyer. The best way is to make it as it is a part of your site (by inter-linking your pages to the main site.

I was just wondering when you mentioned about sending visitors to a separate page, would each page be designed with SEO for that product in mind, and how would your linking strategy reflect this relationship? I always get confused about such things, perhaps you could cover them in a future post? I’m an internet newb. Thanks for adding a touch of realism. Too many self-proclaimed copywriters think that they can just sell anything by handing out smashing reviews. Very few readers are that stupid. You need to offer an actual product, in the affiliate marketer’s perspective, honesty.

I would definitely recommend styling your site to cater for your affiliates products, ie one page per product. I think that adopting the right tone is also important but not saying anything too negative about a product when attempting to sound neutral is a fine line.
