Interesting post. From experience I know that it is very challenging to find a good web designer. It would be so much easier just to create a website yourself (of course a simple website!)

Hm, it is double-edged sword. I think the biggest disadvantage of these patterns, that there is no originality and authenticity. Saves time but without a personal touch…

The good thing about technology is it doesn’t require you to know more about everything. You just need to find ways or reliable outlets that can help you finish your work like creating a website using online website creator. Some maybe costly, while some can be for free. But either situation, it can absolutely save your time.

I have come across one or two website builders who let create sites under their own domain names but did not use NetIDNow’s WebStudio website builder till date. I was just browsing and found out your site and this information as well. Will definitely give it a try.

I second dreamweaver. Its a powerful resourceful tool offering code and live previews of your site as you design it and offers a ton of tutorials and help tips to help you get off and running.

One major problem with template hosting driven websites is you cannot modify the code very much as one would need, for say if you wanted to make sure its code compliant according to W3C standards or adding google analytics. Some templates are very nice and eye catching, however I have only had problems with them in the past and have since created all my sites from scratch.

I am not good at creating sites so I stick to blogs from Blogger. It is very easy to use and caters to beginners like me.

Definitely MS Frontpage isn’t great at creating websites especially good code ones, but you know Dreamweaver isn’t all that bad if you are looking for an offline solution, its a little bit more complex program, but you could still make a website without actually knowing any html.
