I believe most of us are dreaming of making thousands of dollars from Google AdSense. One of the questions lingering in our heads is: How?

Maybe a success story would help…

I stumbled on a forum thread on DigitalPoint that is started by Chris from Australia who claimed has increased his Google AdSense income from $10/week to $800/week (Updated: $1000+ a week – See his forum signature.) While for some of us $10 a week is already a good achievement, making $800, even more than a thousand dollar a week is pretty much amazing.

The thread was started almost three years ago, and it has stirred quite a response from the other forum members. The post is long and need some time to discern the info (some forum members were ‘complaining’ about this, too) – Nevertheless, once you get the gist of the post, you learn a thing or two that most AdSense experts hide, highlighted by his successful layout that is responsible in making him $1000+ a week.

Here are some great tips from the thread:

Choose a topic (a.k.a. niche) that is not based on the high per click income, but based on your familiarity and knowledge – This way, you can bring the site to the fullest potential, and this is way much better in the long run.
Offer value – Write unique, on-topic articles that people would wanted to know or were searching for.
Create a winning-template to showcase your well-written articles (need testing, testing and testing.)
Implement the basics, must-do on-site and off-site SEO: Keywords in title, interlinking pages on the site, link building, etc.
It’s proven to be better to build several sites you are familiar with, instead of lots of sites in high-paying niche (i.e. a blog network)
Experiment a lot – Never be afraid of doing trial-and-errors. Once you have found a working formula, apply it to your sites.
Learn as much as you can from forums, ebooks, books, classes, seminars – The key is to give you an edge over the rest of the pack.
Work hard, stay motivated and set detailed and measurable goals and targets.

After spending 3 hour / day working online for one year, this month I reach 3 digit income. My next target is to reach $250 income at the end of the month, or about 10% increase each month. This month income are from:

Adsense: $51
Forum posting: $30. This is hot. I recommend you to join, it only took me one week to earn $30.
Selling text link ads: $15
Affiliate sales: $9

Total: $105

One month chalange blog

I’m starting my one month challenge blog. In one month, I would like this statistic on my blog and eventually all my blogs. I call this the “Five” stats. Here they are:

50 Articles
Page indexed at Google : 500
Backlinks at Google : 50
Dailly unique visitor : 50
One month revenue from adsense : $5

My target for that stats is one month for more than one month old blog and two months for new blogs. I’m currently working one of my blog. I only have 10 days for this month. It is a one year old blog and it’s current statistic are:

49 Articles
Page indexed at Google : 122
Backlinks at Google : 1
Dailly unique visitor : 45.9
One month revenue from Adsense : $7.8 (Done)

With only 20 days to go, I’m quite optimistic that I will reach the number.

Text vs Graphic on Adsense

Google Adsense provides adverts in both text and graphic format. Which is better? Visitor are used to graphic advertising. and have programmed their selves to ignored them. Text adverts are less seen, but those who do see them, usually read them and are more likely to click and made sales.

Graphic advertising is often paid per impression. This is because the advertiser may be trying to promote their brand, So big company usually use graphic advertising. They therefore are assumed to have worse conversion rates.

For advertiser, text adverts are also cheaper for the advertiser to create, where as a graphically designed advert may cost much. Text advertising appears to be the preference of the advertiser. They pay a CTR (click through rate) and only receive targeted traffic.

I’m trying experiment by creating my own text advertising from graphic advertising. You can see it at my celebrity blog. By converting into text ad, I can have three ads instead of one ad using the same space. I’ll be posting the results here.

I found a guy who said his adsense account was banned by google. Most probably it was suspended due to invalid clicks. So never click your ads. But what should you do when this happened? Dont bother contacting google. You are wrong, and they will not change their decision.
You can still monetize you website/blog using other advertising company. Here are some that I recommend:
